The Mad Eye

It’s not always that much fun,
looking in, scanning the
veins and arteries, inspecting
the inspector, and unleashing
these fevers.

On the other hand, what
absurdity! Hyper-sensitive in the
studio, hours beyond midnight,
surrounded by multiple illusions and the
smell of linseed oil, spent wine ringing
the glass and a teaspoon of kindness
floating wet above the head.

This noble pursuit a gamble,
often discomforting, but
radiant & incurable. The
constant tides in the chest
evoke the boiling experience.

Flames of yearning lick up the
spine, everywhere passion, tinged
with a reddish glow, coiled up
like a top, trained and vigilant.

This burn kindling the
navel; heat, ruins,
and the mad eye.
